To buy marble in Da Nang without overpaying, buy after you have seen the carving, not at the end of a coach tour; get prices from two or three workshops for the same kind of piece; ask what the stone is and where it came from; and agree the price, the shipping and the packing in writing before paying anything.
There is no fixed price for a statue. Size, stone, the amount of hand work and the shop’s overheads all change it, and the first quote in a showroom on a tour route is often far above what the same piece costs in a smaller yard.
We show you the craft, you decide what to buy
Our tours visit a working yard with no sales stop. If you want to buy, you shop where and when you choose.

Four things set the price of a stone piece: the size and weight of the stone, the kind of stone, how much of the carving is by hand, and where it is sold. The last is the one visitors overlook. Large showrooms on the main road, and especially those that receive tour groups, build the cost of the stop into their prices.
The same kind of figure can therefore cost very different amounts a few hundred metres apart. That is not a scam in itself; it is a reason to compare before you buy. The village itself is described in the Non Nuoc stone village guide.
How do you compare workshops?
| Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| What stone is this, and where is it from? | Marble, other natural stone and cast stone look similar and cost very differently |
| Is it carved from one block? | Some pieces are assembled or cast; solid carving is worth more |
| How much of it is hand-finished? | The face and hands decide the quality; ask to see them closely |
| What is the price including crating and delivery? | A cheap statue with expensive shipping is not cheap |
| Can I see it before it is packed? | Check for chips and cracks before it is sealed in a crate |
How the carving is done, and what hand work looks like, is in how a marble statue is made.
How should you negotiate and pay?
Bargaining is expected in the village, and politely asking for a better price is normal. It works best when you already know what similar pieces cost nearby. Settle the total, including packing and delivery, before paying anything.
For a piece you take away, pay on collection. For a piece to be shipped, pay a deposit rather than the full amount if you can, get a written receipt listing the item, the price and what is included, and photograph the piece before it is packed.
Should you buy at all?
Stone is heavy, fragile and expensive to move. A small piece that fits in your luggage is easy; anything larger turns into a shipping project with its own costs and risks. Decide before you walk in how big a piece you really want to take home.

Where is the best place to buy marble in Da Nang?
Non Nuoc village, at the foot of the Marble Mountains, has hundreds of workshops. Compare two or three for the same kind of piece rather than buying at the first showroom.
Can you bargain for marble in Non Nuoc?
Yes. Bargaining is normal in the village. Agree the full price, including packing and delivery, before paying.
Why are marble shops on tours so expensive?
Showrooms that receive tour groups build the cost of that arrangement into their prices, so first quotes there tend to be high.
Is it safe to pay for a statue to be shipped?
Pay a deposit if you can, get a written receipt listing the piece and what is included, and photograph it before it is packed.
