Marble Mountains, Da Nang: Private Tours with a Local Guide
Catch the light inside the mountain.
Your own licensed local guide, fluent in English, who times the caves for the hour the sun falls through the roof. Your own car, on a route built around you. Every ticket covered — from $39 per person.
What are the Marble Mountains?
The Marble Mountains, or Ngu Hanh Son, are five marble and limestone hills about 8 km south of central Da Nang, hollowed out with cave shrines and pagodas. Thuy Son, the main hill, takes two to three hours and pairs well with the Lady Buddha on Son Tra. With a local guide you get more than the view: which cave to reach at which hour, and what its shrines and carvings mean.
On our tours every ticket and every other cost are already included — you never open your wallet.
Shared group tour vs. private tour
Shared group tours suit travellers who are happy to follow a big group on a fixed plan. Here is what actually changes when the day is yours.
Shared group tour
- One guide shared by a van of up to 18 guests
- Fixed route and timetable — no changes on the day
- About two hours at the mountain on the group’s clock, with the elevator often left out
- Entrance tickets and fees often paid on the spot
- A shuttle round of Hoi An and Da Nang hotels, and a stone-showroom stop is common
Fixed plan · extras paid on the day
Your private day with us
- Just your group of 1–4, with a licensed local guide fluent in English
- Your route and pace — any itinerary can be changed on request
- As long as you like in each cave, timed for the light, with the elevator and Am Phu included
- Every ticket and every fee pre-paid
- Picked up and returned to your hotel — no shop stops, in writing
Made for your group · everything included
Our promises — in writing
No hidden costs
The group price is final. The mountain ticket, the elevator, Am Phu cave and everything listed on the tour are pre-paid.
No shop stops
We earn from the tour price alone. Your time goes to the caves and to carvers at work, not to a marble showroom.
Door to door
Pickup and drop-off at any Da Nang hotel — never a van that tours the city collecting strangers first.
Licensed local guides
Locals fluent in English who know the Marble Mountains inside out. They explain the shrines, the legends and how the stone is carved, step by step.

Questions people ask before booking
When is the light in Huyen Khong cave?
On sunny mornings, roughly between 9 and 11, when beams of light fall through openings in the roof onto the shrines. Our tours reach the cave in that window; on cloudy days it is still worth the climb, just without the beams.
How many steps are there, and does the elevator help?
The main stairway up Thuy Son has about 156 steep stone steps. The elevator only reaches the first terrace by Linh Ung pagoda, so the caves and the viewpoint are still reached on foot. Anyone who can manage stairs at their own pace will be fine, and your guide sets the rhythm.
What exactly is included in the price?
Private car with driver, a licensed local guide who speaks fluent English, hotel pickup and drop-off anywhere in Da Nang, every entrance fee including the elevator and Am Phu cave, and the lunch, old-town ticket and boat on the Hoi An day. Pickup from a Hoi An hotel is possible for a small transfer surcharge. The only things not included are personal shopping and optional tips.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes — free cancellation up to 3 days before departure, and free rescheduling subject to availability. Within 3 days of departure, 30% of the tour price is charged because the car and guide are already committed.
Can the tour be tailored for children, older parents or our own interests?
Yes — every itinerary can be adjusted. Tell us who is travelling and what you enjoy, and we will change the stops and the pace to suit. For anyone who would rather avoid the steps, your guide can plan the Lady Buddha terrace, the carving yard and the lower caves, which are almost flat.
How do I pay, and when?
Two ways: pay the full price online by card, or pay a 30% deposit online and the rest in cash on the day of the tour, in US dollars or Vietnamese dong. We can also send a secure payment link on WhatsApp. The booking is confirmed once the online payment goes through, and your pickup time and guide’s name arrive in writing.
How far ahead should I book?
A few days ahead is comfortable from February to August, when Da Nang is busiest; outside those months a next-day request often works. Message us and we will tell you honestly what is still open.
